Continuing an exploration into the potential of leather and silver and the juxtaposition of their contrasting natures. Ware London introduces a collection of pieces that in their own way find a balance, visually and physically.
The design process centers around the material, and is limited to specific shapes and textures to create designs that couldn’t be conceived of initially. Inspired by how a piece feels to wear and the curves and angles of the human body this is adornment that appeals to all the senses.
Using linear materials; leather straps and silver wire, each piece relates to and plays off each other an is a visual record of a thought process. Lines trace the body’s contours and play around fingers, limbs and neck. Structural silver lines intersect with fluid chain. Draped chain softens leather forms. Some pieces are multi-way, Mobius belt can be worn as a neck piece and reversed. The soft ribbon in the Juliet neck/body piece allows it to be tied around the crown of the head.
A contrast of dark leather and its associations, with delicate shapes and playful symmetry, finds a balance. It’s a nod to the collars and harnesses of restraint yet softened, finding an Equilibrium between masculine and feminine.
